The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
To deliver a best-in-class education system for our students while balancing the financial priorities of our community. As we emerge from COVID and I would like to focus on improving our capital infrastructure and continue to invest on delivering a top quality education to our students.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I am the only incumbent and have a proven track record of building consensus and looking at things analytically. Serving on the Board of Education during COVID taught me that you need to continually seek public input, listen to experts, plan, and but then remain agile and calm. I am so proud of what we accomplished and look forward to continuing to work effectively and tirelessly for our town.
Accomplishments:
I believe my financial acumen has proven helpful in finding the right answer for the school system and will be critical as we emerge from COVID with longer term plans for our school system.
Additionally, I have illustrated the ability to work with all stakeholders in trying to build consensus and drive decision making.
Finally, Greenwich had a turnover issue in leadership, and I was chosen to lead the search for Dr. Toni Jones (our current superintendent), and and I am pleased that we recently renewed the contract for Dr. Jones.
Other issues:
I have always believed in the value of a high quality public education as a foundation of a vibrant community. As a mother with three children in our public school system, I see the impact of great teachers and great schools on a very personal level. As an active member of the community, I hear many different perspectives, which has served me well in the past four years on the Board, and and I hope to continue to serve our students and community.
