The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
Delayed infrastructure projects. Republican BET members have rejected funding for projects to bring ADA accessibility and 21st Century learning environments to our schools, planning for the impacts of climate change, and support for appropriate fire coverage to NW Greenwich and other important projects. These initiatives are important for our Town's future. The Town has the resources within our low tax structure; it just needs the support of a majority of the BET.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
The BET needs to be more proactive in recognizing and addressing issues before they become emergencies and like flood control. This position is not reflected in the voting record of the Republican candidates.
Accomplishments:
I have proven municipal experience garnered from seven years on the BET, eight years on the Board of Education and two years on the RTM. On the BET, I have chaired the Budget Committee that crafted budgets which held mill rates low while funding new initiatives. My professional career included experience in financial analysis, strategy development, and communications.
Other issues:
We are not keeping up with other Fairfield County towns. We need to better support the needs of children in our public schools with effective teachers in accessible and updated school buildings, appropriate fire coverage throughout town, and improved playing fields. We can do this within our low tax structure, and thus keeping Greenwich attractive for current residents and new families.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
The BET Chair, with a tie-breaking vote that is used to set policy, is awarded to the party that gets the most cumulative votes for its six candidates. For progress on key initiatives, support all six BET Democrats.
