GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich firefighters extinguished an attic fire and prevented the flames from consuming the entire structure at a home in the Glenville section of town on Sunday morning, according to the fire department.
The Greenwich 911 dispatch center received a call Sunday morning about a roof on fire at a home on Stillman Lane, the fire department said.
"First arriving companies found a large 2.5 story home with an active attic fire that had already burned through the roof of the structure," the fire department posted on Instagram. "Quickly deployed hand lines, an aggressive interior attack from inside the attic and a coordinated effort from the crew of Truck 1 kept the fire from consuming the entire home.Crews were able to save a large portion of the house and the contents for the homeowner."

No civilian or fire department injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation by the Greenwich Fire Marshal's Office.
