Greenwich Hospital To Host Annual Heart Health & Stroke Fair

From Greenwich Hospital:Greenwich Hospital will mark national American Heart Month with a series of events that range from supporting National Wear Red Day on February 1 to hosting the annual free Heart Health and Stroke Fair on February 6.

National Wear Red Day, held the first Friday in February, raises awareness about health disease being the leading cause of death for women. Greenwich Hospital will offer free blood pressure screenings and heart-health information in the Cafeteria Atrium on the ground floor.

Greenwich Hospital’s Heart Health and Stroke Fair will take place from 8 - 10:30 am in the hospital’s Noble Conference Center on the first floor. Educators, pharmacists, dietitians, holistic practitioners and other healthcare professionals will be on hand to answer questions about prevention, risk factors and treatment options for heart conditions. The event is free.

“Our goal is to keep people healthy and have the state-of-the-art resources available if and when the need for acute cardiac care arises,” said Norman G. Roth, president of Greenwich Hospital, who noted that heart disease is the nation’s leading cause of death for both men and women.

In addition, Greenwich Hospital experts will also appear on WGCH (1490 AM) Spotlight on Medicine radio show from 9 - 9:30 am on the following dates:
