Greenwich Police Officer Recognized For Work In Assault Case
A police officer was honored for his work in an assault case involving a pregnant woman, according to the Greenwich Police Department.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich police officer Christopher Jesionka was recently honored for "exemplary police work" following an incident where a pregnant woman was injured after being dragged from her car, according to the Greenwich Police Department.
On Aug. 9 at 6:50 a.m., police responded to the driveway of a home on Harold Avenue in Chickahominy on a report of "a possible vehicular assault."
A woman, who was seven months pregnant, was found at the scene with road rash abrasion injuries, police said at the time.

The woman was dragged from her car when a man she knew tried to drive away, police said.
"The offender fled the scene but Officer Jesionka quickly and (thoroughly) completed his investigation with an arrest warrant," Greenwich police said on Facebook.

An Englewood, N.J., man was arrested on Aug. 15 on an arrest warrant, police said.
He was charged with evading responsibility; sixth-degree larceny; second-degree harassment; two counts of violation of a protective order; and assault of an elderly victim or other, his arrest report stated.
He was unable to post a court-set $750,000 bond.
"P/O Jesionka handled all aspects of the investigation with exceptional care and consideration. He even went the extra step of contacting local NY and NJ law enforcement where the offender had prior connections and police interactions," police added. "His efforts resulted in the offender being located and the arrest warrant served on this violent offender in a speedy timeframe. Start to finish, P/O Jesionka did a fantastic job. Thank you for your dedication to duty and congratulations on a job well done."
