Weinstock responded to the call and was told by a woman and her husband that the baby was not due for another three weeks but she was experiencing abdominal pain, police said.
The couple was on their way to a prenatal checkup when their car hit a pothole, causing two flat tires, police said. The woman's abdominal pain worsened and she continued to have contractions.

Weinstock advised the woman to push, and he noticed the baby's head beginning to crown, police said.
On the next contraction, Weinstock helped deliver a baby boy who began to cry, a sign of good health, police noted.
The baby was safely held until medical personnel arrived a few minutes later. Both the baby and the mother were taken to Greenwich hospital where they continued to receive postpartum treatment, police said.
