Greenwich Police Urge Residents To Follow Rules Of The Road
With school back in session and more children on bikes and scooters, the Greenwich Police Department is advising residents to be safe.

GREENWICH, CT — Due to an increase in children using bicycles, electric bikes and electric scooters with school back in session, the Greenwich Police Department is reminding residents to be safe and follow the rules of the road.
Children under 16 must wear helmets when riding bicycles, e-bikes and e-scooters, the GPD said.
"Anyone operating a bicycle, an electric bicycle or an electric foot scooter on a sidewalk or a crosswalk, where allowed, shall yield the right-of-way to any pedestrian and shall give an audible signal before overtaking and passing a pedestrian. No person shall operate a bicycle, an electric bicycle or an electric foot scooter upon or along a sidewalk or across a roadway upon and along a crosswalk if such operation is prohibited," police said.
