Greenwich Prepares For Storm As Flash Flood Watch Issued
Greenwich says its Public Works department is preparing for the heavy rain that is forecast to hit Connecticut beginning Monday night.
GREENWICH, CT — The town of Greenwich says its Public Works department is preparing for the heavy rain that is forecast to hit southern Connecticut beginning Monday.
A nor'easter will bring heavy rain, flooding concerns, and strong wind gusts to the state, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday. Connecticut could see 2-4 inches of rain, and a flash flood watch has been issued for southern Connecticut.
Greenwich said in a news release that the Public Works department's Highway Division "will have crews out to prepare for the storm by clearing drainage structures, including catch basin grates, headwalls, and storm grate cages."

Residents are asked to make sure drainage areas around their home are free of leaves and other debris.
Monday will feature rain at times and possibly thunderstorms, especially at night, more rain and storms on Tuesday and winds will intensify on Tuesday. The rain should end Wednesday morning, and the winds will remain strong. The sun returns on Thursday and then more rain on Friday and Saturday.
