Greenwich Saw Uptick In Stolen Vehicles To Begin 2025, Police Say
Residents are being urged to lock their cars, take their keys with them, and remove valuables from plain sight.

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department noted an uptick in stolen vehicles throughout the month of January, and residents are being reminded to take proactive measures.
"Our patrol data indicates that the most active shift for addressing crime related calls in January has been during the day (7am-3pm/8am-4pm)," police said in a Facebook post Monday. "The most frequent crime related calls received by our department in January were for larcenies, closely followed by motor vehicle thefts.
There were 10 vehicles stolen in Greenwich in January, and eight of them have been recovered, police noted.

Residents should lock their car doors and remove all keys/fobs, and secure valuables out of sight.
"Your vigilance is crucial in helping us reduce this crime," police said. "We appreciate your cooperation and support in enhancing public safety. Together, we can work towards reducing these incidents and ensuring our neighborhoods remain secure. If you notice any suspicious activity, please report it to the Greenwich Police Department immediately. "
