Greenwich Shoplifting Suspect Faces Forgery, Criminal Impersonation Charges
Police say the suspect was caught in New York City applying for a passport to leave the country.

A woman wanted in connection with a Greenwich shoplifting incident dating back to 2011 was arrested in New York City as she applied for a passport to leave the country.
New York City Police took the woman in custody after it was discovered that Greenwich Police had an arrest warrant charging her with fifth-degree larceny, criminal impersonation, first-degree forgery and interfering with police, according to Greenwich Police. Greenwich officers traveled to Manhattan on Tuesday to take custody of Shayron Williams, 24, of The Bronx, NY.
The charges stem from Williams’ arrest in connection with an Aug. 31, 2011 shoplifting incident involving less than $1,000 of merchandise from the LF store, 319 Greenwich Ave. “During the arrest and booking process, she used someone else’s identity and signed documents with an alias,” said police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray.
