Greenwich United Way Gives New Grant To Pathways Program
Following Connecticut's budget cuts, critical Day Program at Pathways Inc. receives Extension Grant.

From Greenwich United Way:The Greenwich United Way 2018 Community Investment Process provided partner agency, Pathways Inc., with an Extension Grant totaling $20,000 in June. The funds will be used to support the Enhanced Education at Fellowship Program which allows for the continuation of services of art therapy, music therapy, creative writing and computer skills training. The Fellowship Club, Pathways’ Day Program, connects clients with the world around them through a variety of programs designed to build confidence and competencies, connections and engagement.
“Pathways is so grateful for the additional Greenwich United Way funds. Our daytime social rehab center at 8 Sinawoy Road is the only place in Greenwich for our clients suffering from a severe mental illness can go during the day. The center is not only filled with self-esteem building activities and educational groups but is a place for our clients to feel that they belong. The state of CT (DMHAS) recently cut our funding for this program by 10% so without the extra funds we would have to start to turn people away from the program. This funding is invaluable to us” said Executive Director, Florence Griffin.
In February Greenwich United Way presented Pathways with funds to support their Hot Lunch Grant and Fellowship Day Program which provides all adult clients who are below the poverty level with nutritious meals. The program serves two hot catered meals a week at the Fellowship Program. Clients participate in preparing menu choices and ordering hot, nutritious meals from local vendors to be delivered twice a week.

Through the support from our donor base and volunteers our team remains committed to continuing research, development, and funding that provides the only safety-net for Greenwich residents."
