Greenwich's Latest Memorial Day Weekend Forecast

A lot of people have barbecues planned with family and friends this Memorial Day weekend, and many others plan to attend ceremonies and parades honoring those who died while serving in the country’s armed forces.

It’s clear from the latest National Weather Service forecast that Sunday is the best day to have outdoor plans as temperatures around Connecticut will be in the low to mid 70s and skies will be sunny.

Saturday shouldn’t bad either, just a bit chillier with temperatures in the mid to high 60s with plenty of sun.

Earlier this week, thunderstorms and showers were forecast for Memorial Day itself, which is when numerous ceremonies and parades are scheduled.

The good news is, it appears the showers will hold off until Monday evening, and while it will be mostly cloudy there shouldn’t be any rain during the day. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 70s on Monday.

It appears showers and thunderstorms are possible for Monday night and just in time for back to work and school on Tuesday.

• Thursday: A slight chance of rain after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 57. South wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Thursday night: A chance of rain, mainly after midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 48. Southwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
• Friday: A slight chance of showers before 8am, then a slight chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 73. Northwest wind 8 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Friday night: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low around 43. Northwest wind 7 to 15 mph.
• Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 66. Northwest wind 9 to 15 mph.
• Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 47.
• Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 74.
• Sunday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52.
• Memorial Day: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 74.
• Monday night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
