Hair Salon Proposed For Former Print Shop: P&Z Docs
The proposal is scheduled to be discussed by the Greenwich Planning & Zoning Commission on Tuesday.

GREENWICH, CT — A hair salon is being proposed for the former site of a printing press business at 31 St. Roch Ave., according to documents submitted to the Greenwich Planning & Zoning Department.
The building is currently a non-conforming use in an R-6 residential zone, a project narrative on file with the town states.
A change-of-use from retail to hair salon and a special permit are being requested for the first floor of the building — about 1,120 square feet.

The space was used by Minuteman Press, a full-service commercial print shop, which now operates out of 154 Prospect St., according to the company's website.
A change-of-use and special permit is required "to verify that the use will not be any more nonconforming or more detrimental to the neighborhood than the existing/previous use," the project narrative says.

According to the proposal, the hair salon would have two styling stations and two wash stations, the narrative says. The remainder of the space in the building is used as offices.
The property would have 17 parking spaces plus a handicap space, the narrative says.
The proposal is scheduled to be discussed by the Greenwich Planning & Zoning Commission on Tuesday. The agenda can be found here.
