Connecticut Weather: Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Monday

The Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued in advance for Monday. The weekend weather forecast has actually improved somewhat.

The National Weather Service has already issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Monday for Connecticut saying some severe weather, thunderstorms and heavy rain are possible. The fact that the advisory is issued a few days from now is somewhat unusual.

NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan wrote, “Severe weather threat Monday afternoon as we've been talking about for a couple days. Nice combo of shear & instability.”

While Monday’s weather looks unstable to say the least there is some decent news about the upcoming weekend. Initially, it looked liked the weekend would be all clouds and rainy, but it looks like the sun will shine on Father’s Day in the afternoon.

Additionally, while there may be some occasional showers on Saturday, it appears the weekend will mostly be dry. Yes, we’ll be dealing with some rain showers Friday afternoon and this evening, but the weekend won’t be a washout by any stretch. (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons wrote, “Grab your umbrella for some scattered showers midday into the afternoon today. High temperatures in the upper 60s to near 70. A tough call for graduations this evening but some of the rain will be moving out. Morning clouds tomorrow will give way to some brightening for the afternoon with high temperatures in the 70s. Warmer weather with bright skies for Sunday afternoon highs on Sunday in the 80s.”
