Health Scare For CT Meteorologist Gil Simmons
The popular Channel 8 meteorologist has been away from work since last week.

WTNH-TV's chief meteorolgist Gil Simmons has been out of work the last few days while he deals with a "serious medical issue," he wrote on his Facebook page Sunday.
He did not disclose the exact nature of the health matter but has been dealing with it since Wednesday.

Simmons is the second Connecticut meteorologist to suffer a health scare this year, following Bob Maxon's heart attack in March.
And, of course, former Connecticut meteorologist Geoff Fox battled pancreatic cancer last year and made a triumphant return to WTNH last week for a summer gig with the station, which he films from his California home.
