Helen P. Chesney, 78; Riverside Resident, Former Nurse

Helen P. Chesney, 78, of Riverside, CT, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2015.

She was born in Stamford, CT on October 19, 1936.

Helen was married to John “Jack” Chesney on April 27, 1974. Helen had a career in Nursing before her marriage.

She and her husband, Jack, were long-term members of Shorehaven Golf Club and both shared the same passion for the game of golf.

Helen is survived by her Husband, Jack, age 100 and a resident of Waveny Care Center in New Canaan. In addition, she is survived by four sisters; Therese Lazette, Sister Joan Estella, SND, Loretta Ann Roehrich, Mary Schlachter, one brother, Donald Perkins plus 18 nieces and nephews and 34 great-nieces and nephews. On her husband’s side, she is survived by three step-children; John Chesney, Fred Chesney and Patricia Mays, three step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

Helen was predeceased by her two brothers, Francis and John Perkins.

Visitation will be at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home on 2900 Summer St. Stamford, CT on Sunday June 7, from 3-6PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 8 beginning at 10am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4 Riverside Ave, Riverside. Burial will follow the Mass in Fairfield Memorial Park in Stamford.
