Hot Wheels -- A Custom Classic Stolen from Backcountry Greenwich Driveway
In less than 2 hours, the car was swiped from a driveway while the owner was visiting with a friend.

There’s one set of ‘hot wheels’ that the owner really wants returned. So do Greenwich Police, who are investigating the theft of a customized two-door 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air that was stolen from the driveway from a backcountry Greenwich home Saturday night.
The car, painted in black primer, is owned by a Westchester County resident who was visiting a friend who lives on Bedford Road. The car that has the engine mounted through the front hood is valued at $60,000, according to Officer Oliver Doenges who is investigating the theft.
The car was parked in the friend’s driveway while the pair went out between 6:30 and 8:20 p.m. “Somebody may have seen it as a target of opportunity,” Doenges said. There were New York state license plates on the car. Police declined to identify the owner’s hometown.
