Human Skeletal Remains Found In Greenwich Park Being Tested: Police

The remains were discovered on April 25.

GREENWICH, CT — The human remains discovered last week in Helen Binney Kitchel Natural Park, located off Harding Road in Old Greenwich, are in the possession of state Medical Examiners' office for further testing, Greenwich Police Lt. David Nemecek said Monday.

The department did not release any new information concerning the discovery, and Nemecek added that it could take weeks for the tests on the skeletal remains to possibly provide information on the identity of the person.

Detectives will check back with the examiners' office at some point in the near future. "Something like this can take a while," said Nemecek, adding that the department does not know whether the remains are of a male or female.

The remains were found by town workers on the morning of April 25 in a wooded area in the southwest section of the park.
