Autopsy Scheduled As Probe Continues Into Greenwich Homicide
On Tuesday, the body of an unidentified woman was found bound in a suitcase on the side of the road, the town's first homicide in 10 years.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich police detectives are continuing their investigation into Tuesday's gruesome discovery of the body of a bound woman who had been stuffed into a suitcase, with investigators concentrating on identifying the victim, according to officials.
Additionally, an autopsy is scheduled for today, Feb. 6, members of the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, "which may provide additional information on the identity of the victim and the cause and manner of her death."
The woman, estimated to be between the ages of 18 and 30, was found by a Greenwich highway worker on the side of Glenville Road just north of Stillman Lane. She was clothed, and her hands and feet had been bound. The road was closed for hours while authorities conducted "a thorough and methodical forensic examination of the scene," and representatives from the Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner transported the body to the state lab to determine the cause of death.

"This continues to be an active homicide investigation," stated Capt. Robert Berry Wednesday. "We have received many tips from the public which are all being investigated. We have some leads on identification of the victim, but we are currently unable to confirm anything. Our focus at this time is positively identifying the victim and notifying the next of kin. We are sensitive to the fact that the victim is member of someone’s family and our thoughts are with those impacted by this tragedy. The Greenwich Police Department is committed to identifying those responsible for this homicide."
In addition to the medical examiner's office, Greenwich detectives also have been working on the investigation with the State’s Attorney’s office in Stamford.

"We are asking that anyone who may have seen anything suspicious on Glenville Road in the last few days to contact the Greenwich Police Tip Line at (203) 622-3333 and email at Tips@greenwichct.org," said Berry.
Greenwich has not experienced a homicide in a decade. In December 2009, Amanda Dobrzanski, 20, was killed by her father, Adam Dobrzanski who was a caretaker at a Greenwich estate.
Below is the latest statement by Greenwich police on the investigation:
Greenwich Police continue to investigate the discovery of a homicide victim in the Town yesterday February 5, 2019.
The victim, an apparently adult female between the ages of 18 and 30, was found in a suitcase with her hands and feet bound in a wooded area adjacent to Glenville Road. The at-scene investigation had the road closed in both directions until about 4 PM. We recognize that the extended road closure created significant inconvenience for many people. We appreciate the patience and understanding that the public had during this difficult situation.
In addition, numerous leads were obtained from the public which has been productive. We continue to encourage anyone with any information to call us on Greenwich Police Tip Line, (203) 622-3333, or contact us via email at tips@greenwichct.org.
We are continuing to follow-up on all leads and are currently focused on making a positive identification of the victim. An autopsy is scheduled for later today which may provide additional information on the identity of the victim and the cause and manner of her death.
