Longest-Serving Greenwich Town Official Dies

Joan Caldwell, 85, served in the RTM for 52 years.

GREENWICH, CT — The town's longest-serving town official is being remembered after she passed away following an illness.

Joan Caldwell, 85, was a member of the Representative Town Meeting for 52 years and served as moderator pro tempore since 1996, according to the Greenwich Time. Only two other members have served as long as her.

Caldwell gained a broad expertise into the town's inner workings over her years of service.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. at Fred D. Knapp and Sons Funeral Home April 6 and 7. A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church.
