According to Constant's arrest report, the GPD's Special Victims Section conducted an undercover operation in which a detective posed as a 14-year-old girl in an online chatroom and befriended Constant.

Constant began to steer conversations towards becoming more sexually explicit in nature, police said, noting that he "began describing sex acts that he wanted to perform on the 14-year-old girl when they met."
