Man On Moped Accused Of Throwing Rock At Passing Car: Greenwich PD

Police said they found several other rocks within the arrestee's moped.

GREENWICH, CT — A man on a moped was arrested earlier this week after police say he threw a rock at a passing car.

The 55-year-old Greenwich resident was charged with second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree breach of peace — both misdemeanors.

On July 8 shortly after 6:30 a.m., officers were called to the 300 block of North Street on a report of vandalism to a vehicle.

The arrestee told police a car had passed him on his moped while traveling on North Street, and he became upset and threw a rock at the car, an arrest report said.

Police said the car sustained damage from the rock, and several other rocks were located within the arrestee's moped.

The arrestee posted 7 percent of his $1,000 bond and was released, according to his arrest report. He's scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on July 22.
