GREENWICH, CT — Police have arrested a 24-year-old Connecticut man accused of stealing catalytic converters with three other suspects and threatening a Byram resident who tried to intervene, the Greenwich Police Department said Thursday.

Joshua Dejesus, 24, of Bridgeport, was arrested on March 22 by Bridgeport police on a warrant from Greenwich that charged him with first-degree criminal mischief; fourth-degree larceny; first-degree robbery with a deadly weapon; and conspiracy, according to his arrest report.

While attempting to flee the area, the thieves noticed that the resident removed several of the stolen car parts from the trunk of their car, Lt. Patrick Smyth of the GPD noted. The thieves approached the resident and displayed a sawzall tool and threatened to use a gun, an arrest report said.

The thieves took the catalytic converters back and left the area, Smyth said.
