Man Who Fled, Nearly Struck Officer Arrested: Greenwich Police
Police said the man sped away from officers, "committing numerous motor vehicle violations in the process."

GREENWICH, CT — A Brooklyn, N.Y., man who nearly struck a police officer while fleeing in central Greenwich was arrested Wednesday, according to police. The incident occurred Oct. 30 while officers were investigating a report of a suspicious person in the area of Greenwich Avenue.
Lt. John Slusarz said officers located Tramaine Tamari Kinard, 28, and attempted to speak with him, however he got in his car and tried to leave the area.
As he sped away, Kinard's vehicle "almost struck one of the officers," police said in a statement. He then made his way in and out of traffic, "committing numerous motor vehicle violations in the process," police said.

He was last seen getting onto Interstate 95 southbound, Slusarz said.
On Wednesday, officers picked up Kinard from Kings County Superior Court in Brooklyn on a warrant and transported him to Greenwich.

He was charged with interfering with an officer/resisting, reckless driving, disobeying the signal of an officer and travelling unreasonably fast among other charges.
