Margaret Murphy, 47; X-Ray Technician
Calling hours are scheduled for April 1 with the funeral to be held April 2.

Margaret (Marge, Maggie) Murphy, a lifelong Greenwich resident, passed away on Saturday, March 23. She was 47.
Born Feb. 17, 1966, she was a daughter of John “Jack” and Margaret “Peggy” Murphy.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brothers and sisters, Patrick (Sue) Murphy, Tim (Betsy) Murphy, Mary Ellen (Frank) Currivan, Thomas Murphy and Michelle (John) Breen as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the granddaughter of Larry and Ann Daur, and James and Delia (McNamara) Murphy. She was predeceased by her brother John.
Margaret attended St. Mary’s and St. Catherine’s Grammar Schools, Greenwich Catholic Middle School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1984. It was there in her senior year that she was captain of the cheerleading team.

Margaret received a degree from Sacred Heart University, and later graduated from the Stamford Hospital Radiography Program. She was a licensed radiology technologist in both New York and Connecticut. During her career she made many dear friends while working as an X-Ray and MRI technician at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, NY, Greenwich, Stamford and Norwalk Hospitals. When time allowed, Margaret would volunteer at the Shelter for the Homeless in Stamford.
Family, friends and having fun were the things that meant the most to Margaret. Always the life of the party, she will be dearly missed. The love that she showed others throughout her life will be felt forever.
Friends may call at the 134 Hamilton Avenue in Greenwich from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 1. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 2 at St. Mary’s Church, 178 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich.
