Maureen Moloney, 89; Retired AT and T Manager; Long-Time Greenwich Resident

The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 11.

Maureen Moloney died after a brief illness on June 30, 2015. She was 89.

Born in Queens, New York on Feb. 13, 1926 to Mary and Edward Moloney, Irish immigrants who were proud to become United States citizens.

Maureen was predeceased by her brothers John and Edward Moloney and her sisters Anne Vegliante and Patricia Marx.

She is survived by 15 loving nieces and nephews and their children.

She retired as a District Manager from AT&T Corporate Headquarters in New York after 41 years of service.

A Greenwich resident since 1972, Maureen was a volunteer and parishioner at St. Mary Church in Greenwich, serving on the Board of St. Mary’s Guild, the Travel Club of Greenwich, Secretary of the Landscape Committee and Tax District at West Lyon Farm and an active volunteer for the Greenwich Red Cross. She also was a member of AARP, Greenwich Seniors and Greenwich Theatergoers.

All of her life, Maureen had a passion for travel and vacationed with friends throughout the world, beginning at a time when it was a first for American tourists to visit foreign lands.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church on Saturday, July 11 at 11am. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
