GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich felt minor impacts from the heavy rain that moved into the area this past weekend, the Greenwich Police Department said in an update Monday morning.

Police said there was minor street flooding, a downed tree and subsequent road closure, and a brief power disruption for a few residents. The Greenwich Fire Depatment said it responded to over 20 calls for service, including gas emergencies, storm related flooding andmultiple major accidents on I-95.

"Unfortunately, many cities in the state are dealing with significant damage this morning, and there are reports of missing people and someone who was killed in yesterday's flooding incidents," police said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who have been injured, lost their life, or have been impacted by the recent flooding rain. The weather patterns continue to bring significant rain storms to our area, and we anticipate a very active hurricane season."
