Needs Clearinghouse Donation Helps Greenwich Domestic Violence Victim

The Greenwich-based nonprofit agency Needs Clearinghouse has partnered with the Greenwich YWCA’s Domestic Abuse Services to help a domestic violence victim.

This week, Needs Clearinghouse Co-President and Co-Founder Joe Kaliko presented a check to Greenwich YWCA Domestic Abuse staff members Jessie DiMuzio and Vanessa Wilson. The donation helped to pay to furnish an apartment for one of the Y’s rescued domestic violence victims.

“The Y has called on Needs Clearinghouse to help their charity before and the two charities will continue to leverage their resources to address domestic violence,” Kaliko said.

Kaliko, an intellectual properties lawyer in Greenwich, and state Rep. Fred Camillo (R-151), established the Needs Clearing House in 2013, to create public—private partnerships that fill the voids municipal government cannot.

Previous NCH efforts have included coordinating the donation of surplus bed linens from The Nathaniel Witherell nursing home in Greenwich and the Stamford Marriott to Neighbor to Neighbor, the Greenwich food pantry that also supplies home supplies and clothing to local families; a winter coat drive and bi-weekly pizza dinners at local shelters.
