Connecticut Weather: Powerful Thursday Storm To Bring Snow, Wind
The powerful storm is expected to produce blizzard conditions in parts of New England. Here's the latest on Connecticut's forecast.

Circle Jan. 8 on your new 2018 calendar. That's the next time the temperature in Connecticut will be above 32 degrees, according to The Weather Channel. The high that day could be a sweltering 36 degrees. The temperature on Saturday may not make it to 10 degrees. And, of course, there's the matter of a potential significant snowstorm that could hit Connecticut Thursday.
It looks like Connecticut will see "accumulating snow" Thursday, but exactly how much snow is still uncertain. In a Hazardous Weather Outlook for southern Connecticut, the weather service noted there is "the potential for an accumulating snowfall Wednesday night into Thursday night as low pressure passes east of the area. Eventual impacts will depend on the track and strength of the low which remain uncertain, however, there currently is a low chance for at least 6 inches of snow accumulation."
For Hartford and Tolland counties late Wednesday night into Thursday night, "Accumulating snow is likely as low pressure tracks off the New England coast. While it is still too early to determine snowfall amounts, winter weather headlines may eventually be required."

According to NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan, "The op GFS remains a dry (snowless) outlier for the Thursday storm. Most likely outcome for CT is a light (and windy) snowfall but a more significant storm can't be ruled out right now."

Hanrahan said forecasters will know much more about this powerful storm Tuesday. Accuweather.com said the storm is so powerful that parts of Florida might see some snow.
