New Yorker Cartoonist James Stevenson Passes Away at Greenwich Home
He contributed 2,000 cartoons to the New Yorker and was the author and illustrator of more than 100 children's books.

GREENWICH, CT — Longtime New Yorker cartoonist James Stevenson, 87, passed away at his Cos Cob home Friday.
Stevenson had complications from pneumonia, according to the Greenwich Time.
He also contributed a number of written pieces and covers for the magazine. He produced about 2,000 cartoons and 80 covers for the New Yorker, according to his biography on Harper Collins.

Before the New Yorker Stevenson was a reporter for Life Magazine and a member of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Stevenson also contributed to the New York Times and is known for his "Lost and Found New York" animated essays.

He was also the author and illustrator of more than 100 children's books.
Arrangements are under the direction of Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home in Greenwich.
