NY Woman Arrested on Drug Charges in Riverside
The Bronx 25-year-old held a falsified prescription for Oxycodone, according to police.

Police arrested a 25-year-old New York City woman Thursday afternoon after she tried to pick up Oxycodone with a fake prescription at a CVS pharmacy in Riverside.
Latisha Stacey Bankston of 900 Ogden Ave., Apt. 1C, Bronx NY was charged with two counts each of second-degree forgery and obtaining a controlled substance by forgery, as well as criminal attempt.
According to a police report, the CVS pharmacist at the chain’s Riverside Commons store notified police when it was discovered Bankston obtained Oxycodone with a fake prescription. The pharmacist “advised that [Bankston] had responded and attempted to pick up the prescription,” the police report said.

The incident marks at least the third time this year that a Greenwich CVS has been targeted. In January, two men who know each other were arrested following on Greenwich Avenue. That incident occurred followed a of a CVS in Riverside, in which police used surveillance cameras to help .
Police say they seized $780 cash from Bankston as well as a separate fraudulent prescription for another person, using the same doctor.

Police said Bankston’s bond was set at $2,500 and she was scheduled to appear Sept. 23 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
