Obituary: Alba Fox, active member of Greenwich Senior Center


Alba Fox, an active member of the Greenwich Senior Center, passed away on June 2, 2013 following a short illness.

Alba Michelini, (Mickey) as she was called in High School Year 1943 was born in Union City, New Jersey to Alexander & Catherine Michelini.

Mrs. Fox is survived by her husband of more than 25 years, George Fox of Greenwich whom she met more than 32 years ago.

She leaves behind many of her friends at the Senior Center of Greenwich whom she shared many activities with especially singing, cards and pool games.  She has always been known for her ability to make people laugh and always enjoyed a good tune for singing and dancing.  She enjoyed many family picnics and gatherings.  She will also be greatly missed by her husband George, her family and by her favorite dog, Bo Bo, for whom she enjoyed preparing many homemade meals.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Alice Bennett and children Amy and Ricky Bennett, granddaughter Denise Schiron, Martin (Tracy) and children Kendall & Mya Huber, grandson Christopher (Debra) Schiron and children Benjamin and Ella Schiron; stepchildren; Nancy Hogan Pozvek (Carl), Joe Fox (Debbie), Steve Fox, Kevin Fox (Janice) and Catrina Fox.  Also surviving are step-grandchildren; Lida Fox, Erica Fox, Nicholas Fox, Shannon Hogan Jackson (Jamal), Ryan Hogan, Katie Fox, Clinton Fox and one step-great-grandchild, Carter Jamal Jackson.

She also had many relatives who stayed in the New Jersey area.

She was predeceased by her brother Alexander Michelini and her son, Michael Schiron.

Friends may call at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich, from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 5. A Mass will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 6, at St. Mary Church, Greenwich Avenue in Greenwich. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary Cemetery, North Street, Greenwich.
