Obituary: Charles E. Mosher, 88, Of Greenwich

It is with sadness at the loss but joy in the life that the family of Charles E. Mosher (Charlie) announces his death. He left this world peacefully with his loving wife of 63 years, Roberta Brown Mosher, by his side. He died on his 88th birthday.

Born February 9, 1931 in Schenectady, New York to parents George Franklin and Helen Leitzel Mosher, he is predeceased by his brother George Mosher Jr. of San Diego, Ca. and survived by wife Roberta (Bobbie), children Dottie Morley and husband Steve of Salt Lake City UT, Annie Ransone and husband Will of Santa Barbara, CA. and Chuck Mosher and his wife Ellen of Old Greenwich, CT. Charlie had 8 adoring grandchildren and one great grandson.

Charlie was a 60 year resident of Greenwich where he practiced law; most recently as a partner at Bentley, Mosher, Babson and Lambert. He served on numerous boards and charitable foundations including President of The Greenwich Bar Association, President of The United Way, The Red Cross, Rotary Club, Lions Club, Harpoon Club, The Salvation Army and many others. He was also deeply involved in the Boy Scouts, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and was awarded their lifetime Scouting Award.

Charlie was an avid fly fisherman and a member of the Preston Mountain Club of Kent, Ct. and served as its President. He was a 52 year member of Innis Arden in Old Greenwich, a deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Old Greenwich and a congregant of The Stanwich Church in Greenwich. He also served as President of the Severance Lodge Club on Lake Kezar in Maine where he and Bobbie shared a beloved summer home.

Charlie grew up in Scarsdale, NY where he graduated from Scarsdale High in 1949. He served in the United States Marine Corp as a First Lieutenant, honorably discharged in 1954 and graduated the University Of Virginia School Of Law in 1958.

Charlie was above all else a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed but joyfully remembered.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Stanwich Congregational Church (202 Taconic Road, Greenwich) at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 16th.
