Obituary: Margaret A. Derocle, 92; School Volunteer, Eucharistic Minister
Services are scheduled for Monday, Aug. 5.

Margaret A. Derocle, a Greenwich resident for 44 years, passed away peacefully in Greenwich Hospital on July 30, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was 92.
Margaret was born March 30, 1921 in Manhattan where she resided along her husband and family until moving to Greenwich in 1969. Margaret was the devoted wife of Emile for 66 years before his death in May of 2010.
She was the loving mother of Margaret Peasback (David) of Greenwich, Barbara Steele (John) of Greenwich, Anne Hires (By) of Darien, and Paul Derocle of Kauai, Hawaii. Margaret was the cherished grandmother of Jeffrey Wilkens and his wife, Francine, and the adored great-grandmother of their daughters, Paige, Brooke, Morgan and Kelsey, all of Greenwich. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Margaret delighted in spending summers with family in their Denning, NY summer home in the Catskill Mountains, and especially cherished spending her time with her grandson, Jess and her four great-granddaughters. Margaret volunteered for many years at Whitby School in Greenwich, and she and Emile were very active as Eucharistic Ministers at St. Timothy’s Chapel in Greenwich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at St. Timothy’s Chapel, 1034 North St., Greenwich. Internment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Greenwich. Arrangements are by Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich.
