GREENWICH, CT — Nathaniel P. Reed, a prominent environmentalist who grew up in Greenwich, passed away in Canada on July 11 at the age of 84, writes The Washington Post.
Reed was in Quebec fishing when he suffered a head injury in a fall and never regained consciousness, according to the publication.
Among other achievements, Reed was integral in the creation of both the Clean Water Act and Endangered Species Act, and he worked tirelessly for a host of environmental causes.
