Obituary: Quirico Soro , 85, Of Greenwich

Quirico Soro , 85, passed away on December 24, 2018, in his home peacefully with his family by his side. Quirico (Rico) was born in the town of Siligo, Sardinia, Italy. He immigrated to the United States in 1955.

He became a self-employed electrical contractor and worked for Bristol-Myers Squibb for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a parishioner at St. Mary’s Church in Greenwich, CT, and an avid gardener.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Veronica McGinlay Soro. Also three sons Rico Soro of Greenwich, CT, Giovanni Soro (Tom) of New Canaan, CT and Raffaele Soro (Anna) also of New Canaan, CT. Four grandchildren Lucian, Brianna, Alexandra, and Isabella. Predeceased by his parents Raffaele and Giovanna Soro and brother Luigi. He also has a sister Maria Piu of Greenwich, CT and Giovanni Soro of Sardinia, Italy. Also, many nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 29th at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church (178 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich).

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Research.
