Over $20K Worth Of Items Stolen From High-End Store In 2020, Man Charged: Greenwich Police

A man has been charged in connection with the December 2020 theft, Greenwich police said.

GREENWICH, CT — A New Jersey man has been charged in connection with a 2020 theft from a high-end store on Greenwich Avenue in which thieves took over $20,000 worth of merchandise - mostly coats, according to police.

Richard Dejoie, 35, of Union, N.J., was extradited by Greenwich police from the Orange County Correctional Facility in Goshen, N.Y. on April 9. Dejoie was taken to the Greenwich Police Department where he was processed and charged with first-degree larceny, organized retail theft and conspiracy, his arrest report notes.

Police said the arrest stems from the theft of merchandise from a Greenwich Avenue store on Dec. 7, 2020.

Lt. Timothy Kelly of the GPD told Patch that 10 items were taken from the store, with an approximate total value of $22,000.

Greenwich Time reported that another suspect was charged in 2023.
