Police ID Greenwich Man Struck, Killed By Vehicle: Update
The fatal crash occurred Wednesday evening, Feb. 7.

GREENWICH, CT — A 70-year-old Greenwich man was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday evening on Milbank Avenue in Greenwich, according to police.
Robert Bono, of Milbank Avenue, was struck by a Jeep SUV heading southbound while he was crossing the street at about 5:55 p.m., according to police.
The driver of the vehicle, an out-of-town man, stopped immediately and has been cooperating with authorities. His identity has not been released, and as of now he has not been charged but the case remains under investigation.

"At this point, we're looking at everything," said Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz Thursday. "There are a lot of dynamics we're working out, and there are many unanswered questions."

On Wednesday February 7, 2018 at about 5:55 p.m. a 70-year-old local man was struck by a vehicle on Milbank Avenue while crossing the street. After being struck the pedestrian slid under a parked car. Greenwich Police, Fire, and EMS responded to the scene and were able to extricate the patient. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
The collision is under investigation by the Greenwich Police Department Traffic Section. The crash resulted in the temporary closure of Milbank Avenue between Elm Street and Havemeyer Place.

Police are investigating a MV-Pedestrian crash on Milbank Ave between Elm St. and Havemeyer Pl. The road will be closed for an extended time, please avoid the area if possible.
