Police Chase Stolen Car Into Greenwich, Teen Arrested: PD
Greenwich police said a teenager was arrested, but three other suspects eluded capture during a foot pursuit.

GREENWICH, CT — A Bridgeport teenager was arrested following the pursuit of a stolen car into Greenwich early Sunday morning, according to police. Three other suspects were able to elude capture during a foot pursuit.
At approximatley 2:20 a.m., on Oct. 8, Rye Brook, N.Y., police pursued the stolen car into Greenwich, which was recently reported stolen out of Milford with a gun inside, police said.
The car came to a sudden stop in the area of Brookside Drive and four suspects fled on foot. A 17-year-old boy from Bridgeport was apprehended, but the three other suspects were able to get away, police said.

"Car thefts continue to be a problem thoughtout Connecticut and New York," Greenwich police said on Facebook. "Changes in CT legislation regarding pursuits and juvenile law over the years, coupled with an abundance of vehicles left with key fobs inside, have made this crime easier for the criminals."
Police urged residents to remove keys from their cars.

"By doing so, we eliminate the risk of criminals stealing cars and using them for other crimes, or stealing them and driving recklessly in our neighborhoods. Remember, a moment of neglect can invite significant trouble. We all need to take this small step to safeguard our communities," police added. "GPD will continue its efforts to detect, disrupt, and deter crime in the Town of Greenwich. Please spread the word about removing key fobs and keys, and other valuables from your vehicles. Let's not be easy targets."
