As part of the process, the town wants to hear residents’ thoughts, ideas and preferences. So parks officials will be hosting a public forum on Wednesday, April 22, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center 90 Harding Rd.
The 32-acre park was opened in the early 1930s and is named after Edwin Binney who purchased 10 acres of land and donated it to the town as a park. He spent about $100,000 for the design and plantings in the park.

For years, the town and residents have discussed the merits of dredging the park ponds which have been filled with silt from nearby streams. The park is the site of several annual town events including summer concerts, the annual miniature sailboat regatta and Fourth of July fireworks show.
