Connecticut Weather: New Snow and Ice Estimates Released
There have been some changes to the forecast this morning based on new computer models. Here is what you can expect.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the entire state of Connecticut for a combination of snow, sleet, freezing rain, and then plain rain. This isn't going to be a big deal snow event, but inland and northern sections of the state could see a significant period of icing, which could lead to hazardous road conditions this afternoon and evening.
Hundreds of schools cancelled across the state this morning because the worst of the storm is expected between 10 a.m. and mid-afternoon. For coastal areas of southern New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties, up to one inch of snow and ice is expected.
For interior sections of Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, and New London counties, total snow accumulations of up to two inches is expected.

The coast of Fairfield County could see up to one inch of snow and ice. Hartford County is forecast to see three to five inches of snow. Tolland County is forecast to see two to four inches. Three to six inches of snow is expected in Litchfield County.
NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan said Wednesday morning that the "Trend overnight with the storm is that it looks a smidge warmer so snowfall totals will likely be a bit lower (let’s say about 2” of snow in Hartford instead of 3”). In the far northwest Hills I’m thinking about 4” as opposed to 5” or 6”. A period of ice on top of the snow is still going to make this storm sloppy. Along the shoreline snow will change to rain fairly quickly and most of the snow will wash away. Across the interior up to 1/8 to 1/4” of ice is possible.

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons said, "A mess of weather coming through today. Snow to ice to rain. I am not expecting big snow amounts. It will be slippery though even at the shoreline for a few hours. Ice will last longer inland. Most places will be above freezing for the evening commute with RAIN. Some lingering ice in NW CT. Take the umbrella!"
From @themattcast : Not a lot of snow, but little snow isn't a big deal, but a little ice can cause big trouble as the moisture changes around lunch time. We're the ONLY Nonstop News in CT, On from 4-10am with the @fox61news pic.twitter.com/3XKGDSlCE2
