Stanley Hallas, 92; WWII Veteran, Lifelong Greenwich Resident
Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening with the funeral scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 30.

Stanley Hallas passed away peacefully on Oct. 28, 2014 in Greenwich. He was 92.
Stanley was born to Joseph and Regina Hallas on March 18, 1922 in Greenwich.
He was a lifelong resident of Greenwich. Growing up Stanley was a member of the Greenwich Boys Club and was an excellent athlete. Stanley was in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served in the Mediterranean Theater aboard the SC 525. Stanley was an assembler for the Electrolux Corporation for over 40 years.

On Oct. 5, 1946 he married Ethel Louise Burns.
He was an avid golfer, loved football, and loved gardening, but most importantly he loved his family.

Stanley is survived by his wife Ethel of 68 years, his son Joseph ( Linda Ann ); his daughter RuthAnn; grandson James ( Pamela ), and great-grandchildren Arthur and Evelyn.
He was predeceased by his sister Sophie Shusdock, his older brother Joseph, and his younger brother George, as well as his parents.
Visitation will be at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich, from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at Sacred Heart Church, 95 Henry St., Greenwich. Interment will be private.
