'Physical Altercation' Closed Section Of Merritt In Greenwich: CSP

Connecticut State Police said troopers responded to a report of a physical altercation on the Merritt Parkway near Greenwich.

GREENWICH, CT — The Merritt Parkway northbound lanes near Exit 28 were closed Tuesday night due to an investigation being conducted by the Connecticut State Police.

Trooper First Class Pedro A. Muñiz said preliminary reports indicate that troopers from Troop G responded to the area on a report of a physical altercation.

The investigation is "still in its infancy stages," Muñiz said. More information will be released when it's available.

The parkway was closed for about two hours; it reopened around 10:15 p.m., the Greenwich Police Department announced.

Deputy Chief Mark Zuccerella said GPD officers were assisting on-scene.
