Thousands Of School Speed Camera Violations Reported In January, Greenwich Police Say

Here's a snapshot of police activity in Greenwich for the month of January.

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department last week released its monthly statistics for January, and reported a total of 7,225 school speed camera violations.

The violations were reviewed by Blue Line Solutions, the camera vendor, and the GPD's traffic section, and then mailed out.

"Currently, there are still 9,537 pending violations for review that may increase the total number of violations for the month," police said. "We kindly remind all motorists to reduce their speed when traveling through school zones. Slowing down helps ensure the safety of students, pedestrians, and crossing guards. We appreciate your cooperation and support in enhancing public safety."
