Water Main Cleaning Begins in Greenwich
The Aquarion Water Co. cleaning program will last two months.

If your tap water looks discolored or there’s a drop in water pressure, it’s because the Aquarion Water Company began its water main cleaning program ion Greenwich on Monday — a program that will last for two months.
From Monday, April 13, through Friday, June 19, the water utility will be performing the water main cleaning between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. [Below is a schedule of weekly Aquarion crew locations. Detailed street information will be available at 1-800-203-7000 and www.aquarionwater.com.]
During the cleaning, customers may notice some discoloration in their water and drops in water pressure. The discoloration results from the temporary disturbance of the water flow, which stirs up naturally occurring minerals that settle in water mains, according to the company. Aquarion is recommending that customers store water in their refrigerators for drinking and cooking. Customers should also refrain from washing laundry if the water is discolored. Before resuming water use, customers should run their cold water faucets until the water appears clear.
