Where To Recycle Your Christmas Tree In Greenwich
Several Christmas tree collection sites will be set up around town through Jan. 31, 2024.
GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Department of Parks & Recreation has announced that residents may begin to bring their Christmas trees for recycling on Tuesday, Dec. 26.
Tree collection will run through Jan. 31, 2024.
Here are the following tree collection sites in Greenwich:

- Byram Park: Residents only — no commercial haulers. The site is located by the second gate. Open weekdays and weekends, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Bruce Park: Residents only — no commercial haulers. The site is located in the parking lot by the children's playground, opposite the entrance to the Bruce Museum. Open weekdays and weekends, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Greenwich Point: Residents only — no commercial haulers. The site is located across from the nature center. Open on weekdays and weekends 6 a.m. until sunset.
- Holly Hill Recycling Center: Residents AND commercial haulers. Place trees in the yard waste area, 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekdays, and 7 am. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays.
All trees must be undecorated (ornaments, tinsel, lights, and stands must be removed). The town does not accept wreaths or garlands.
The Greenwich Parks & Trees Division will be recycling Christmas trees by chipping them. Residents can use the wood chips as mulch or compost; they will be available at each collection site.

Tree chips retained by the town will be used in parks as mulch for trails in woodlands, shrub beds, and soil stabilization.
