William J. Frattarola, 94; Decorated World War II Veteran; Involved in Greenwich Government

William J. Frattarola, 94, of Greenwich, CT passed away on June 10, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Port Chester, NY on October 4, 1920. He was the son of the late Luigi and Giuditta ( Lavalla ) Frattarola.

William was predeceased by his wife of 65 years Josephine ( DiPietro ) Frattarola and his brothers Joseph and John and his sister Lena Coppola.
He is survived by his sisters Elizabeth Cecio and Flo Piro; his son, Warren ( Marie ) Frattarola and his daughter Camille ( William ) Rorant of Greenwich; grandchildren Mark Frattarola of Guilford, NH and Kristen ( Frank ) Ingarra of Greenwich, CT, and his great-grandchildren Courtney and Trey Ingarra.

William served in WWII in the European Theater. As a veteran, he was highly decorated for his bravery in combat, receiving the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and the Silver Star. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 478 for 65 years.
He was an active member of the RTM and the Planning and Zoning Board Of Appeals. William was a Fourth Degree at the Knights Of Columbus. He was an avid reader and devoted parishioner of St. Roch Church. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.
Calling hours will be Friday, June 12, 2015 at Castiglione Funeral Home, 544 Old Post Road #3, Greenwich, from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Roch Church, 10 St. Roch Ave., Greenwich, CT. Entombment to follow at ST. Mary Cemetery, 399 North Street, Greenwich, CT.
