Groton Budget Referendums Suggested By Charter Revision Group
The commission suggested doing away with the RTM.

GROTON, CT — The Charter Revision commission has recommended doing away with the Representative Town Meeting and allowing annual budget referendums.
A seven-member Board of Finance would be created as well, according to The Day. Proponents argue that it will allow voters to have a more direct say in how their tax dollars are spent.
The suggestion will go to the Town Council, which will decide what charter revision recommendations make it to a referendum before voters in November.
