• DEEP awards $5.1 million to help communities prepare for extreme weather (nbcconnecticut.com) — The Town of Groton is receiving a $250,000 state resilience grant to plan protections against extreme weather, including flooding, heat, and other climate-related hazards. The funding, part of DEEP's Climate Resilience Fund, is meant to move local projects from planning toward construction and help Groton compete for larger federal dollars in the coming years.

Richard Blumenthal presses the Pentagon over sailor welfare and shipboard conditions.
