Groton Police Assist in Countywide Search for Suspect

LEDYARD, CT – A man was arrested Wednesday on state and local warrants after a countywide search involving multiple departments, The Day reported.

Urbain Joseph Savaria, 52, was wanted on warrants out of Ledyard and state police, according to The Day. Ledyard officers worked with state police and a Groton Town K-9 unit to locate Savaria after he was spotted near Long Cove Road.

A countywide search was initiated and the suspect’s vehicle was later found, The Day reported. Savaria, who was not in the vehicle, was found nearby and taken into custody.
